Release the lock switch (CanoScan LiDE 25)

That switch us used for locking the scanning mechanism during shipping. I think it's stupid that on installation procedure there
is no message informing one of that thing. It caused me hours of frustration trying to find out my scanner no longer worked.. thank goodness for youtube and
the internet that had the information for me ……

WOW !!!! after 8 years, I discover that switch button… and resolve once for all my problem. It's like a reset, (instead to reinstall the driver and restart and so on as I used to do)

Sir, if I unlock the release button and shutdown my pc, will the scanner do any problem? When I start my PC and scan anything I notice some problem on scanning. Please advise me.

Doesn't help for me. Was already unlocked. Still get the warning. Have had terrible luck with everything I've owned from Canon.

anybody knows how to remove the stupid lock mechanism completely? I needed to lock and unlocked it at times even though it stays on unlocked position
